Disqus
Today I just started using Disqus, an Y Combinator startup, for the comments on the weblog. I'm not related to them in anyway, nor I will get anything from praising them, but I think they have a great product and they deserve this post.
Disqus works as a discussion forum integrated in each post, with support for threaded conversations, comment rating and poster profile and reputation. Also, it integrates seamlessly with a range of blog engines, including blogger. Using Disqus now you can follow all the conversations related with this blog: http://egimenez.disqus.com/, or follow all comments by a certain user (or yourself) across all the sites plugged into disqus. Of course you can follow them via the web, but maybe you prefer an RSS feed or even you want to get all the comment emailed to you. In this case, you can reply the comment replying the email! Awesome.
For me, Disqus also provides a convenient way to manage and moderate the conversations and fight spam.
One of the most interesting points, from my point of view, is that it integrates better with a blogger blog than the blogger comments. The standard blogger system to send a comment uses a pop-up or a page that completely breaks the template design. It simply uses the standard blog pages! But I want that all my blog features look the same. With disqus I've it, with a load of extra features.
